True Vision repair service

Door repairs for locks, gearboxes, hinges and dropped doors.

If a door is difficult to lock, catches on the frame, has a loose handle or will not engage its multipoint locking system, the fault is often repairable. We diagnose the door, hardware and alignment and restore safe operation wherever practical.

What this service covers

  • Multipoint lock and locking-strip faults
  • Gearbox replacement
  • Euro cylinder replacement
  • Door handle and furniture replacement
  • Hinge adjustment and replacement
  • Dropped or badly aligned doors
  • Keeps and locking engagement
  • Composite and uPVC door servicing

Diagnose first. Repair second.

A door that has become difficult to lock is not always a failed lock. It may be dropping on its hinges, pulling against the keeps or putting extra load through the gearbox. That is why we check alignment and hardware together rather than swapping parts blindly.

Survey detail that helps get the repair right.

For older or unfamiliar mechanisms we record manufacturer markings, PZ centres, backset and other useful dimensions during the survey. This improves part identification and reduces the chance of a return visit caused by the wrong mechanism being ordered.

One repair or a whole property.

Security faults are treated seriously. If a door cannot be secured, tell us when you enquire so we can understand the urgency and the condition of the lock or opening.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my uPVC door only lock if I lift it hard?

The door may be misaligned, the hinges may have dropped, the keeps may need adjustment or the locking mechanism may be worn. Inspection is needed before deciding whether adjustment or replacement parts are required.

Can a uPVC door gearbox be replaced?

In many cases, yes. The gearbox is a replaceable part of many multipoint mechanisms, but correct identification of the existing lock and measurements is important.

Do you repair composite doors as well as uPVC?

Yes. We can assess many common composite-door hardware and alignment faults including multipoint locks, cylinders, handles and hinges.

Can you change the cylinder without replacing the whole lock?

Where the cylinder is the failed or unsuitable part, it can often be replaced independently. We first check that the rest of the locking mechanism is operating correctly.
