Faults that are commonly component-level
Handles, hinges, friction stays, espags, gearboxes, cylinders, keeps, gaskets and sealed glass units are all separate components or assemblies. Failure of one of them does not automatically make the frame unusable.
When several repairs can be grouped
If a property has many small faults, a structured survey can record every affected unit and build a combined repair programme. This makes it easier to compare the cost and scope of restoration with wider replacement options.
When replacement may be the better answer
Repair-first does not mean repair at any cost. Significant structural damage, unsuitable frames or a combination of faults that makes restoration uneconomic can justify replacement. The survey should make that distinction clear.
Think beyond the first visit
Keeping a unit-level maintenance history is useful because future faults can be compared with previous work. True Vision's platform records surveys, repairs and jobs against the same physical window or door asset.
Get the actual condition assessed
A quote based only on age or a photograph can miss important detail. If the decision matters, inspect the frame, glass, hardware, alignment and seals and price the repair scope that is actually required.
Need someone to inspect the fault?
True Vision can turn the symptom into a measured repair scope and quote.
